Chabad Hebrew School focuses on educating children through art, music, and drama, enabling them to experience the ideas and ideals which are taught in a relevant and artistic manner.
We engage your child's sense of identity by capturing his/her imagination and attention. So, we put a lot of effort into providing our students with substantive lessons and a positive atmosphere.
The lessons are multi-sensory and hands-on, ensuring that the students truly experience what they are being taught. The lessons are structured with discussion-starters, to create a lively, interactive classroom experience. The information truly becomes the student's own.
Every session offers hands-on experience to truly understand it's depth, meaning, and connection to Judaism. Our incredible staff caters their individual attention to each and every student, ages five through thirteen and promises to engage each child on their level instilling enthusiasm and Jewish pride.
Hebrew Reading
Our students learn to read & write Hebrew. They gain confidence and familiarity with the Siddur-Hebrew Prayer Book, which will enable them to easily prepare for their Bar/Bat Mitzvah and beyond. We use the acclaimed Aleph Champ Program, which is a Karate-inspired method that helps you learn at your own pace & bring Hebrew literacy to life. Hebrew School experience.
Israel
Our ancestral homeland - Israel, is an essential part of our heritage and a child's Jewish upbringing. At Chabad Hebrew School we emphasize our connection to our Holy Land while exploring our history as Am Yisroel Chai - the secret to our eternal strength!
Jewish Values
Beginning with the origins of the mitzvot, stressing practical applications in our daily lives, our students will explore a personal Jewishness with our new Light-House Curriculum
Jewish Culture
The students gain an appreciation of our heritage and culture that has been preserved throughout the ages through various cultural crafts, literature, and songs, presented throughout the year.
Links: Connecting to our Jewish History
Jewish history will come alive as students tackle the time period of Yehoshua until current times. Specific emphasis will be placed on application of history; the students will explore how lessons gleaned from history formed the identity of the Jewish People today. Most importantly, students will gain an appreciation for the impact of Jewish history on their “Jewishness” and their lives.
Holidays and Shabbat
Hands-on lessons on each Jewish holiday will fill the calendar as we begin with learning about the High Holidays and continue throughout the year. By the end of the year, the students will have a deeper understanding and appreciation of each holiday, its traditions and customs, and of Shabbat, and its special meaning to the Jewish people.
Bar/Bar Mitzvah Preparation
Our emphasis in preparing teenagers is to foster an awareness that this milestone is only the beginning of Jewish life. Bar/Bat mitzvah preparation focuses on synagogue skills, Jewish Holidays, and what it means to be a proud Jew in today's society. These fundamentals are essential for a child to fully participate in adult Jewish life.
