No Jew to be Forgotten on Passover

The Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem M. Schneersohn appoints Rabbi Zvi Konikov
as his shliach (emissary) to distribute Shmurah Matza.

“Let all who are hungry join our Passover Seder.”

Dear Friend,

Each of us has a friend or family member who has recently lost a job, lost their income, or lost their home in these very difficult economic times. Our faith and optimism are being challenged. But there is an answer… 3,322 years ago the Jewish people were brutally murdered, tortured and enslaved in Egypt. No income, no healthcare, no benefits, no hope. How did we survive?

Passover celebrates that we not only “got through it”, but that we were lifted from the destruction to become the most resolute, life-affirming nation the world has ever seen. We are a people today because our ancestors, no matter how dark life had become, knew the power of giving. For thousands of years, through the most horrendous conditions in Russia, Germany, Egypt, and a host of countries too numerous to name, we have proudly read the immortal words of the Haggadah, “Let those who are hungry come and eat… Let all who are needy join our Passover celebration…”

In just a few short days, many of us will join friends and loved ones around the Seder table. Sadly, the less-fortunate members of our community cannot afford a Seder. They are struggling with serious challenges that seem too hard to overcome. They may be elderly or ill. They may be impoverished or homeless. They may be addicted or imprisoned.

But they are not forgotten. As we have done for nearly 20 years, Chabad of the Space & Treasure Coasts will reach out to these people in need. We will host two Community Seders, greeting our guests with an open hand, a kind smile, and a warm meal.

I urge you to support our effort to spread the freedom and joy of Passover. Your tax-deductible gift will give Chabad the resources to feed the hungry during the holiday – and it will give you the satisfaction of knowing your compassion has touched someone in desperate need. In the merit of your kindness, may G-d bless you and your loved ones with a Happy, Healthy and Kosher Passover.

Thank you and G-d bless you,

Rabbi Zvi Konikov
