Baal Shem Tov - Rabbi Yoel Baal Shem
Rabbi Dubov starts off his lecture with the story of the Baal Shem Tov convening a Beis Din- Rabbinic court to get rid of the Sheidim – demons who were inhabiting a particular house. While the story is more or less accurate, the Rabbi makes a common mistake and attributes this story to the Baal Shem Tov when in fact this story happened with Rabbi Yoel Baal Shem*. The source for this story is “Lubavitcher Rabbi`s Memoirs” vol. 2 (ch. 80-81 in the Yiddish ed.). It is Memoirs from the sixh Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Y. Y. Schneersohn.

*There were 3 “Baal Shems’ “who preceded the Baal Shem Tov. In chronological order they are Rabbi Eliyahu Baal Shem, Rabbi Yoel Baal Shem and Rabbi Adam Baal Shem. Only Rabbi Yisoel Baal Shem is known simply as the Baal Shem Tov, the others are called just ‘Baal Shem’ without the “Tov.”

The Jewish View.....
Thank you Rabbi for the lecture. It deeply concerned me, your topic- and I am very glad having heard these deep words. I feel very encouraged in following Torah and enjoy what has revealed to me...tonight while listening together with my 11 year old son. We had lately a discussion about "Halloween". We are the only Jews living in this neighbourhood and I resisted to do any of this custom and I did not allow my child to go from door to door collecting candies....etc. BaruchHashem....many thanks for this "eye-opener" regarding HaSatan and how HaShem is in charge and takes care.
Shalom!

It's the Thought that Counts, But for What?
The eternal question, "Which is greater, the intention or the deed?" is examined in this lecture. The virtue of the intention is that it raises the earthy, finite condition, which is man, toward heaven. The virtue of the deed is that it brings the infinite to earth. In a relationship, interaction is more essential than personal growth and intention.
